Welcome to Punjab Degree College
Punjab degree college, Mehmuana was started in 2016, it's the main and esteemed campus of PUNJAB GROUP OF INSTITUTIONS. PDC is the result of a notable endeavor made by the Gurdev Educational Society to impact holistic education to the youth of Faridkot, especially the rural areas, falling in its vicinity.
An affiliate of the Punjabi University, Patiala it is situated on Faridkot-Sadiq Road, in the village Mehmuana. Its almost 6 km from Sadiq and 12 kms from Faridkot.
The college boasts of a high-class infra structure, for both academic and sports. A fully furnished and well-equipped building, spacious sports arenas, and a peaceful environment, all contribute to the growth of a sound academic ambience in the campus. State of the art classrooms, laboratories for the various disciplines and a huge knowledge bank in the form of rich Library resources make PDC stand out from the rest. PDC has a distinctive profile-rural in ambience but modern in its approach. Nature has blessed the college with lush green surroundings and a totally unpolluted environment.

B. Com is a highly professional course which gives you a lot of knowledge about company law, businesses, accounting, income tax, Human Resources and provides us with several career options. Faculty teaches in a simple way and have a friendly vibe with all the students. Even in online studies they help us with whatever they can.
There are huge grounds and the prettiest infrastructure one can think of.

In PDC, Fees are not only affordable but also flexible enough. Institute offers to pay the fees in instalments. The middle class can easily afford to study in this institute. Scholarships are also available; the students’ needs to provide the Verified documents. During my three years in college, students observed and undergone big positive changes in the institute. Management started to focus on all around development of students.

I opted for the BCA course, because I love coding and I want to be a programmer. Other reason was, majority syllabus of BCA focuses on almost every aspect of Computer Science which never goes out of trend. PDC has excellent infrastructure with eminent facilities. Institute has a full Wi-Fi-enabled campus. Quality of teaching is very good at this college in fact they take care of us more than the school teachers. College equally focuses on extracurricular activities too, with academics.

The teachers are worried for their students, and they continuously push them in every possible way. Not only projects and assignments but we are always indulged in discussions about current affairs and what would be best practice. You get plenty of exposure to the world of literature, languages, and translation, especially how this knowledge can be applied to the society in which you live. Before covid, they had offline monthly term test which made the students remember the subject matter properly. During Covid time, faculty helped a lot. Regular classes via different platforms mainly google meet, Zoom, CISCO Webex, WhatsApp, are taking place.

NCC of the college is one of the prominent in all the nearby colleges, in-fact no other college in and around Sadiq Faridkot offers NCC. As compared to colleges around, Punjab Degree College have newly constructed building, classrooms, Labs, Library and most importantly Air-conditioned Studio or you can say a smart room; where seminars by the guest faculties, practical training, and other kinds of programs like Teachers Day, Children's Day, Achievement Program by students are being held.

Ragging is a criminal offence as per the Supreme Court verdict. Ragging is an offence under penal code and under section 116 of the Karnataka Education Act, 1983 (Karnataka Act No.1 of 1995), which define ragging as: “Causing, inducing, compelling, or forcing a student, whether by way of practical joke By intimidating, wrongfully restraining, wrongfully confining, or injuring him or by using criminal force on him/her or by holding out to him/her any threat of intimidation, wrongful confinement, injury or the use of criminal force.”
